WORTH CONSUMING!

I feel like this show was before it’s time, or perhaps just misunderstood? The characters were multi-dementional, thanks to great writing and great acting. It’s just sooo well writen, intelligent, witty, and thought provoking. So, why did it get cancelled?

WORTH CONSUMING!

I love Pinback, so it’s hard for me to NOT like this album. What I like about it is what might turn some people off. The best way to discribe this album is that it is like an artist’s sketchbook. It’s like he let us into his stream-of-consciousness. Each song is a “doodle”. It’s very intimate and raw and as always the lyrics are top notch from Rob.

It certianly wasn’t the most amazing movie I have ever watched but it slowly grows on you as you realize the subtly of it all. It has has the problem of being a bit slow and dis-jointed. The other problem being it is at times hard to know exsactly what is happening. Nothing in the plot is explict, everything is shown not told but after all isn’t that the art of movie making? The father’s retirment, the feelings and opnions of the characters are all implied. It is actually pulled off quiet well. As I realized all of this, it also dawned on me that this is the nature of Asian culture. So dispite feeling bored at some points this movie has a lot of good moments, if you are intrested in film making styles this is a film you should check out.

music documentaries. If you don’t let the “religous” aspect deter you this is a great one. I love seeing people just go for what they want out of life and it seems like Daniel really didn’t let anything discourage him from his goal. I also love how he discribes sucess, it has nothing to do with money and everything to do with happiness. I am also currious if this family fights, everyone has disagrements sometimes so I wonder if they are all just easy going or they edited any confrontations out of the movie. Anyway, I really liked it.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I first heard this band when they opened for Pinback in Gainsville, FL in 2001. I really enjoyed them (one of the few opening acts I’ve ever liked!). There music is mellow and diffrent.

I think this is Amiee best album. At the very least it’s conceptually flawless. She’s at her songwriting best here. She gets into other peoples heads and writes form their perspective which, yes has been done before, but she assumes the character of people with flaws and problems and writes so you are symathetic to them. It’s just brillant.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This writer is really good at telling a story and writing a story that sucks you right in. Theres no waiting for the book to “get good”. It’s not thick, deep reading but certianly worth your time to digest.
