A story about "Black, White & Jewish: Autobiography of a Shifting Self" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I was wondering how to rate this book. It started interesting but became like a puzzle of hard stories, sometimes unclear.
The last parts are so impressive and empowering that made the book definitely worth reading.

I like stories about “a Shifting Self” as it’s called here. I believe it can teach everyone something important about themself and about other.

(and on this topic, I also recomand “The Color of Water”)

Why I recommend "Feminism Is for Everybody: Passionate Politics" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This short book keeps the promise in the title and shows that feminism is really for everybody.
Shout “feminism” in a room full of people and you’ll get a lot of different remarks. This book can answer a lot of them, and it does it well.

A story about "The Double" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Not the best Saramago I read, but I really enjoyed it. When I heard about the book the idea sound amazing. The book wasn’t what I expected, but it was good in a different way and, as always, well written.

Why it's taking me forever to finish consuming "Freedom in Exile: The Autobiography of the Dalai Lama" — 3 years ago

I don’t know!
I started reading it a few months ago and I just couldn’t return to it, I always have something else to read before. I should just take an afternoon to finish it. Anyway, I’m not giving up on this book! :)

A story about "The Island on Bird Street" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I read it a few years ago and I can still remember a lot of it, and especially the unique feeling of reading it.
It’s a moving story about a boy hiding alone (well, with a mouse) during the holocaust, waiting for his father to come back for him.
It deals with a difficult subject in a way that young kids can relate to, and it’s a great book for adults as well.
