I got this book years ago and never picked it off the shelf to read. The reason for this was that somewhere i had read that it was boring and no good.

that is wrong. The story isn’t the most action packed roller coaster ride but the writing is very good and the story and background to the planet Vulcan is excellent.

If you are going to read this I’d recommend reading The Romulan Way by the same author too. It has a similar feel and the history ties in well.

Sad to say that Rick Berman and the guys have since destroyed the history that the books paint but hey, they also destroyed Star Trek too.
