An Amazing Satire — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is one of the best satires on the typical All-American family that I have ever heard or seen. The ending was terrific, the last nail in the hysterical coffin of the traditional suburban family [not really but you know what I mean XD]

I also quite enjoyed Dick’s deporatation and their various robbery endevours, especially when him and his wife are in the home messing with voice distortion machines.

Quite amusing, I’d recommend it to anyone.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I heard mixed reviews but was still interested. The hubby and I agreed on it at Blockbuster and loved it. Lots of laughing out loud on my part. The only thing that bugged me was the use of the “F” word in one instance. I thought this movie was PG…are they doing this now? Is it really okay for kids to hear that these days, are they pushing that envelope. Sooner or later they’ll be using it on regular television. But oh well, this movie is worth a rent, I may even buy it pre-viewed though :)

A surprisingly entertaining and timely film. Set in the backdrop of an Enron/Anderson type of corporate meltdown, it only slightly exaggerates the reaction of suburbinates faced with the end of the comfort and luxury that they have enjoyed by placing their hopes on increased future earnings. I especially like the ironic deportation of Dick. I recommend it for it’s worker-eyed view of corporate disaster.

Funny and not so funny — 3 years ago

I enjoyed this movie and thought it was relatively amusing, though it’s certainly nothing to write home about. I wouldn’t actively recommend it, but if it comes across your path there’s no harm in watching it as far as I can see. That is, unless you hate Jim Carrey or Tea Leoni.
