WORTH CONSUMING!

In this slim volume, Marjane Satrapi gives us a peek into intimate conversations among Iranian women today. Her poignant drawings illustrate that, despite having to dress and conduct themselves conservatively outside the home, these women gossip and discuss sex in humorous, frank, and occasionally crude language with the best of them. Great fun!

Satrapi’s Persepolis books are also wonderful.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Satrapi is brilliant. I’ve never had a writer make such a coultural impact on me- since I read Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird 12 plus years ago. Great stuff. Fantastic. Required reading.
The title through me off though, I thought it’d be like Joy Luck Club, with all the women chatting while participating in a sewing club. I did not expect the title to mean the revirgining of a woman by sewing back up the Va-Jay-Jay.
Nor can I believe I actually wrote the previous sentence.
Worth Consuming.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I got through this in about 30 minutes and even though it is obviously written for women, I thought it was funny.

Nothing is as good as persepolis-1 but this was delightful in its own way.
