The book was enjoyable, I read it quite quickly. It doesn’t really compare to “The Giver”, though. Matt and his dog, Branch, were very easy to like as characters. Parts of the book seemed a little too juvenile (obviously the main audience is fairly young adults), but I reccomend it. You could basically tell what was going to happen in the book. I knew the ending not many chapters into the beginning. Nonetheless, because of my loyalty to Jonas and “The Giver”, I will be reading “The Messenger” as soon as I can :)
