A story about this — 49 weeks ago

This low-budget production of American’s most famous family feud lacks grit. Despite much of it being filmed on location in Kentucky, it makes sparse use of the richness of bluegrass scenery and often feels like it was shot on a studio lot. I just wanted it to rain or something. Not to detract from the acting, which was okay given the woodenness of the plot and script, but Christian Slater was wasted as the governor and the “love story” ala Romeo & Juliet just didn’t grab my heartstrings. Not quite a moaner, but definitely not two thumbs up.
