WORTH CONSUMING!

This book falls in the good but not fantastic category. I’m glad to have read it, but I’m not sure if I’d lend it out to anyone in a hurry (although my lending of books is limited to those that I don’t mind not getting back, so maybe this is a good candidate…).

WORTH CONSUMING!

A murder mystery / crime story told from the point of view of a detective with Tourette’s.

It’s a fascinating look inside a mind not entirely under the control of itsself. Full of evidence of verbal and physical tics, the personality of the narrator comes through strong.

I had a hard time putting the book down, initially, but then at the end the whole sort of tangled web got a little too convoluted and a bit far-fetched and the whole thing sort of unravelled into a sorry-looking pile of ends that weren’t exactly loose.

So, I guess what I’m saying is that it had a huge amount of potential that was slightly squandered, but there are definitely enough good bits to make it well worth the reader’s time.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

It never got off the ground for me. Collecting dust. Maybe I’ll pick it up again one day.
