I loved The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, so when I saw Summerland for $3.50 at my local bookstore, I couldn’t resist. It was pretty good. Not nearly as sophisticated, and Chabon’s gift with the language doesn’t come through, but it was definitely enjoyable for a children’s book. Pick it up if you enjoy the likes of Harry Potter and/or baseball.
