WORTH CONSUMING!

this book was interesting, though it seemed a lot of it was intended to address criticisms he had faced (such as being a “draft dodger” or stuff about the whitewater scandal). also, some parts of the book assumed a knowledge of past political events that i didn’t have. but maybe people who were older than i was when the events were occurring would know more about them.
[i consumed the abridged audiobook…i don’t know how much material that took out.]

I’m not terribly far into this, I guess. I bought the paperback edition so I am about one-third of the way through the first book. I find it to be very interesting, if a little comtrived at times. I had seen President Clinton speak in person and was amazed on that occasion at how engaging he is. I don’t think his writing is as elegant and engaging as his speaking style. Still, a very interesting book, I have enjoyed what I have read so far and look froward to reading the rest. President Clinton seems to be a very thoughtful man and I appreciate his perspective. I am not usually intereted in autobiographies and this one holds my attention.

I am 3/4 of the way through this book. It is kind of cheesy. After many of the stories he tells, he then will say he learned some corny lesson from the experience. Clinton is a relatively young man with a lot of his life yet to live. This even comes across in the book in a way. Most autobiographies obviously come towards the end of one’s life when that person probably just wants to get out the truth of everything that happend in his/her life. Clinton comes across as trying to use the book to help with his image and the image of his wife, for good reason since she may be making a presidential run in four years.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I really liked this! And I was amazed how much he did not like Newt!!! LOL! Ok, well maybe surprised is not a good word. Still, I learned a lot and really got to like Clinton a lot more as a person and a former president.
