I really wanted to like this, but I felt like I was tricked into believing Kristofferson had the central role. It’s really about his grandson. Also, I remember how much I loved KK’s singing in A Star is Born so many moons ago, but he’s lost it… just a shadow of his old singer-self. Kinda sad. The story was okay, and Hilary Duff had a remarkably adult role. Gotta love Val Kilmer, too, even if he played a bit of a sleezeball.
