Larger group, bigger setting, completely loses the intimate claustrophobia of the original.
Not as impressive in terms of characters or traps.
Twist ending much easier to guess.
A good example of how near-mandatory sequels are ruining modern horror.

I really couldn’t tell you why I liked Saw – I’m not a fan of horror movies in the slightest! I think what I like about the two I’ve seen now are the ‘clever’ psychological twists, that raise it from being a straight slasher movie.
Some nice nods to the original, but not really quite as good – well, just less original. Still, something a bit different (for me) for a Friday night movie!
i thought this one was much better than the first one. it was interesting to see beverly mitchell in a non goodie-two-shoes role.
