WORTH CONSUMING!

So far so good, very enjoyable and engaging, just waiting for the second disc from Netflix to finish watching it.

Finally finished watching the second dvd. I had to play catch up a bit at first because it had been so long in between dvds and I didn’t have the first one to reference to again, but it was a great miniseries. I actually wouldn’t have minded if it were longer than the 6 hours if they would have expounded on the lives of some of the supporting characters. I think this would be an awesome book to read if it ever came out in book form because you could get more in depth with thought processes and hidden emotions.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I had been waiting for this movie ever since I first heard about a year or two ago.

I know people’s first response is 6 hours!!! but I have to say this movie touched my heart in ways I cannot articulate. To watch a film that follows the length and breadth of a whole lifetime makes you step back and to borrow a phrase put on a wider lens.

To second what viridiana said, I am now a big fan of Ravel as well.

WORTH CONSUMING!

There’s a scene in this film involving Giulia where she sits by a piano that her mother has given her and the camera pans over to her beautiful hands as she starts to play. It’s then that we hear a scrumptious piano piece by none other than Maurice Ravel. This delighted me endlessly and I sort of know why. In any event, it’s the second film that I’ve seen recently that references his work. Now it also references Bach and Mozart, but their music is much too popular in film for me to keep track of.

WORTH CONSUMING!

It’s a good film, but I’m glad I waited for the dvd. And I’m sorry but Matteo is hot, even if he is messed up. They always are!
