WORTH CONSUMING!

Here’s a film that will never be shown as an in-flight movie. Jodie Foster plays the fiesty mom well, willing to do whatever it takes to find her missing child aboard the massive Alto E-474 aircraft that she helped design. Some nice little twists keep you guessing till midway through, then its no hold barred action. Much of the scenario is unreal, such as the relative freedom Foster has to roam the aircraft when it has already been established that she is a serious threat to everyone’s safety. But it’s still worth seeing, and much better than I expected.

WORTH CONSUMING!

The way my aunt talked about this movie i expected it to be awful, but it was actually rather decent. It’s not the best film out there, but it was more good than bad. Interesting diversion with several twists that doesn’t ignore the world we live in post-9/11.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This isn’t the best movie, but it was good, and much better than I’d heard. I thought they made some great choices about the characters that really supported the plot effectively. The acting is good. It’s true that it gets annoying for a while when Jodie is being hysterical for a long time, but that’s not the whole movie. In some ways it is like Panic Room. I think it’s worth seeing, though there’s no need to rush out and get it.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I tried twice to watch it and fell asleep within the first 40 minutes of so both times.

Love my Jodie Foster movies but this one was a yawner.

Clever twists, but it’s one of those movies that leaves you asking questions at the end. Worth watching, though. Jodie Foster didn’t look too good…

WORTH CONSUMING!

I like movies with unexpected twists, so needless to say, I enjoyed this one. It was much better thought out and more than I expected it to be.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

What can I say, it was marginally better than I expected. Which is still not very good. At least the internal movie logic is consistent, and the main character does ask all the right questions in the impossible situation she finds herself in: losing her daughter in-flight on a plane. It’s just that Jodie’s near-hysterics get on my nerves.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Let’s just say, thank god Mary Jane was with me.

2 hours of Jodie Foster FREAKING OUT. I’d rather see her talk to her dead father.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Good movie, but they could have said a few more things in the beginning to explain the situation. While you get all the information in the end…I was distracted thinking I missed something because I had no idea what was going on.

If you can make it through the beginning, it’s a decent movie.
