A story about this — 3 years ago
I love this film; kind of came by it by accident one late night on tv, but once I got in, I was in; Anyway, Holden played this businessman who basically became a Nazi sympathizer during WW2 at the request of Her Majesty’s service as a secret agent; Well, his wife, friends turn their back on him; but the one friend who should turn his back, a Jewish man, didn’t. He just expressed his sadness at the turn of events and stayed away from him; with all of that, he goes back and forth to Germany doing business with the enemy and getting information that would help the cause. On the last mission he took to Germany, he narrowly escaped and that part of the movie is quite riveting; not to say the rest isn’t, it is; Very intriguing film.
