You won’t find me hating on Ms Cooper here; I LOVE her work; Her short stories(well novellas) are soo dang good; you can’t help but come back to them again and again; This book is told by a group of women who wanted to get to Chicago; but sadly only one did but with mixed results; She meets up with a madam who takes over her life and when it is time to cut loose on the apron strings, it becomes a bit harder for the madam to break it;
