I’ll have to give this several more spins to firm up my attitude toward this one but my initial take is that while it’s better than the average album, it’s not as special as the 1st 4 American albums (I’ve yet to hear #5) or either of the prison albums (San Quentin/Folsom Prison). Solid Cash fans will still want it…and I’ll probably buy it..but I’m not sure the casual Cash appreciator will like this as much.
