I wasn’t blown away by the book, but I liked it. There were some interesting ideas in it and different takes on the supernatural and I always enjoy reading these. Of course there has to be a cliffhanger at the end so that now I’m curious what’s gonna happen next… There could have been more sex and romance, but it was o.k. as it was.

While I was generally engrossed in the story there were aspects of Saintcrow’s world building that I found annoying. At the same time, I loved Jaf and am mad at Saintcrow for what she did to him. Grr.

While I felt some areas of Lilith Saintcrow’s fantasy world were fascinating and well-created, I thought others were mundane and a rip off of other stories. The book was only okay, but I think it was a good starting book for a series, because it has some unexpected twists.
