Other than the dim sum scene, I have never seen Kung-fu Panda. So, I don’t know if the magic of the movie was adequately captured on paper or not. What I read was good, but I was flying blind here.
In terms of the Richie Rich reboot- oy, what a mess. The geniuses behind this book decided to turn Richie Rich into Johnny Quest- with Rich fighting robots and a volcano. That wasn’t as much to worse part as the robot maid turned into a tank and Cadbury seemly knows martial arts thanks to his time in black ops. What the frick?
This Richie Rich is more suited to have been written by Tom Clancy. While it has adventure, it lacks the poor little rich boy charm of the Harvey Comics Richie and it also is devoid of of the filthy rich humor that Richie shares with another famed cartoon miser- Uncle Scrooge.
I give Kung-fu Panda a worth consuming, Richie Rich 2.0 a not worth consuming and leave it up to you to find a copy of the 2011 Free Comic Book Day offering.
