WORTH CONSUMING!

While I disagree that A Hat Full of Sky is better than Wee Free Men (it’s not quite) it’s still a really good read. And both Tiffany Aching stories are evidence as to why Pratchett should write more children’s novels.

Yes, it IS found in the children’s section at the bookstore. But it’s a children’s book in much the same way Shrek is a children’s movie. Full of slightly more adult humor that’s subtle enough you have to be an adult (or, at least, older than 12) to catch it. Which makes it fun for everybody.

I also disagree that the Feegles are the sole element that makes this a good book. Not to say that they aren’t extremely wickedly hilarious, but they’re loads better in Wee Free Men. If you’re a fan of Pratchett’s Withces at all read this book. You don’t see a terrible amount of Witch action, but they’re still awesome.

And Tiffany is a great character herself. She’s just young and still new. I’m sure if Pratchett writes a third you’ll see her start to come close to par with Susan and Vimes. Kid’s got potential for awesome. She just isn’t as interesting in A Hat Full of Sky as she could be because she’s sort of finding who she is as a witch in this book.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This book is better than the first Tiffany Aching book “The Wee Free Man”. But the book is not good because of Tiffany, but the Wee Free Men themselves. Pratchett’s most brillaint character(s), since Death.
The book took me a while to read, but not because it was complicated or boring. Actually, this was one of the most non-complex Discworld books, with a definite not ambigious ending. I’ve been sick for about 10 and just didn’t feel like reading much. So please, consume this book!
