As New Moon, the sequel to Twilight, begins, a bloody incident at Bella’s 18th birthday party forces Edward to conclude that, as a vampire, by his mere nature his presence is dangerous and that he’s compromising her safety. Edward and his family leave town and Bella is devastated and spends several months despondent before finding new companionship in Jacob, a family friend. But she is surprised and hurt when, after a few months, Jacob also begins acting strangely.

New Moon doesn’t quite measure up to Twilight, but it’s an enjoyable read. I’m still not convinced that Bella and Edward are actually in love – Edward seems to be influenced more by Bella’s “scent,” and Bella by Edward’s glamour, though I suppose if they’re both happy, what’s the difference? I’m looking forward to Eclipse next month.

Ms. Meyer acknowledges both Muse and My Chemical Romance as inspiration for this book. How cool is that?

This book was definitely a lot easier to enjoy the second time around. Knowing that Edward was going to return really allowed me to enjoy Bella’s time with Jacob a lot more, even though I still anticipated his return more than anything.

this book is absolutely incredible. the twilight saga has officially taken over my life. this book got so intense at parts that i literally had to take a break from reading to calm myself down. I LOVE IT!

Stephanie Meyer’s second book in the Twilight series is definitely worth a read. She continues this “Romeo and Juliet” tale except that in book 2, Edward, is not such a prominent character. Bella Swan, has been a zombie for the past 6 months since Edward broke up with her. She is coming to her own but the pain for a true love lost continues to consume her. She tries to get out of it and becomes closer friends with Jacob Black, whom we met in Twilight. He’s younger than her but is in love with her.

In Twilight, Jacob tells Bella some of they myths and legends that have been passed down from his people, the Quileutes, about the “cold ones” and “werewolves.” This tale becomes one of the foundations for “New Moon.” Things are changing for everyone who lives in and around Forks, Washington.

Bella’s struggle to keep from falling apart after losing Edward, Jacob’s bond with Bella and Edward and the Cullens’ connection to Bella Swan will all come into play. Who does Bella choose? How much danger has she put her self and her family and friends in?

“New Moon” does not move as quickly as “Twilight” but it is still a page turner. This book seems to be the one that gives the reader the history for what will happen in the 3rd book, “Eclipse.” It was more of a foundation building book and it definitely is not a stand-alone book. You need to read “Twilight” to understand what is happening. It is action packed and filled with longing and romance. However, it certainly can be enjoyed by both girls and boys. Readers will be torn, like Bella, between their fascination and admiration of the Cullens, the vampire family, and Jacob Black and his pack of werewolves.

Out of Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse, I thought New Moon was the weakest. Perhaps it’s because I am such a fan of Edward, but I found the plot far less captivating then the other two books. It is still worth consuming, however.

An absolutely FANTASTIC story! It was as brilliant as the first one(Twilight) I cant wait for the thrid book(Eclipse) to come out! I feel that this book along with the first and soon third book, will forever be revered as classics!

This book, this series, twilight and new moon by stephanie meyers is absolutely amazing! I read both books in 3 days, i couldn’t put them down, i read them in class, at lunch i even snuck the one into work and read it when no one was looking. The next one is coming out in August and i literally cannot wait, i’m going to see if i can pre-order it on tuesday. If you have not read either of these books, you have to, yes they’re about vampires, but the story behind it, the corny love parts, the hot main character, absolutely fantastic read!

i liked this one as much as the first one. if only the ending were as good. but nonetheless the book was incredible. it moves your emotions as hard as the first and maybe even harder in this one.

The romance between human Bella and the vampire Edward is relatable and more believable than any other vampire book I’ve read. Not since the relationship between Buffy and Angel, have I rooted for a couple like them.
