A story about this — 5 years ago
I read this book about five or six years ago when I was in fifth grade and found it very interesting. I had no idea it had any sequels at the time.

BV and I always have an argument about the quality of the Harry Potter books, and it always ends with her telling me that there is better children’s fantasy out there, such as Pullman. And then I say I haven’t read Pullman, and she refuses to continue arguing until I go read Pullman (and probably a half dozen others, but I have to start somewhere).
