I read this for the wonderful Nebula winner “Singing My Sister Down,” and enjoyed the rest of the collection more than I thought I would, not being a huge fantasy short-story fan (other than Kelly Link. :-))

I loved the boomy names of the elephants in “Sweet Pippit” and “Wooden Bride” was another favorite, for its laconic heroine.
