i only read secret window, secret garden, after watching the secret window with johnny depp. i wanted to see if the story was as bad as the movie. although the book was definetly better it was not by much. first off i’m not a huge stephen king fan. that being said i still thought it wasn’t that well written. i think the makers of the movie would have done a lot better if they kept the original ending of the book and told us about mort’s previous bouts with plagerism. the story and the origins of the name john shooter and where he was from would have made a lot more sense. it is only a novella so worth your time but wouldn’t recommend it if it was a full-length novel.
