A story about this — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Good, not great. Jesse Eisenberg turns in the best performance as Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s geeky founder. Justin Timberlake is surprisingly believable as Napster CEO Sean Parker, too. Gives an interesting peek behind the Harvard curtain, from Finals Clubs to sculling. This will be an interesting anecdote in the history of the Internet someday, but IMHO it is not Oscar-level cinema.

Simple, overrated, yet entertaining — 2 years ago

A storm in a teacup. A very expensive teacup, but still, quite the introvert little history designed to get the blood-pressure going. Fincher’s pretty cinematography doesn’t hold the film, even though the soundtrack (mostly by Trent Reznor/Atticus Ross) is very fine and used to great effects, also including a song by Super Furry Animals. Blimey. All in all: entertaining, but far from a must-see.

Why I want to consume this — 2 years ago

The first 5 minutes made me feel very, very uncomfortable – it felt like this big, overhyped movie of the year was going to suck; but I’m glad I stuck with it.

Ok, now on to the next 5+ minutes.
