Imagine- an action movie with guns, explosions, and romance and completely devoid of gore, decapitations, and sex. It’s like the action films of old. I loved being able to watch an action movie and not feel dirty for having sat through it.

The chemistry was great and once Helen Mirren popped up, I had a feeling a sequel was in the works. Low and behold, in 2012, the entire gang is going to start filming predicted sequel. I just hope it A) doesn’t copy the first film and B) doesn’t suck!

Malkovich’s portrayal of the LSD’d to the extreme Marvin alone is worth the price of admission.

Worth Consuming!

As action comedy goes, this movie is “cute.” Not quite serious enough to have you gripping your seat, not quite funny enough to warrant a belly laugh. It’s the wonderful cast of older actors that makes it worth watching, from a gun-toting Helen Mirren to an evil Richard Dreyfuss and veteran Ernest Borgnine locked away in a secret vault. Malkovich is his usual trippy self, and Willis is still dying hard. Freeman doesn’t get much opportunity to show his range, but with all the mega-stars vying for camera time, what’s a director to do? Oh yeah… there’s a plot… former black-ops agent Frank Moses (Willis) gathers his old crew to uncover the truth about… but it’s hardly important. Just enjoy the ride.
