This was good fun – exactly what was advertised and expected: Greek myths gone 21st century. Comparisons to the Harry Potter series are hard to avoid: Student with special abilities and a broken home life goes away to special school (camp) to learn how to use his powers and defeat the baddies. Special effects are excellent. Pierce Brosnan get to be a centaur (anatomically correct?), Uma Thurman is Medusa (perfect!), Rosario Dawson is Persephone (yum!), and Logan Lerman plays Percy (well). There will be more of these; you can bet on it.
