It’s true this film is slotted as a “comedy”. There is in fact, a distinct lack of funny in this movie. Although Matt Damon does a great job being this guy and you utterly believe him to be this dweeby, self important, compulsive liar. I have to give this movie major points for the treatment of this “real life story”. It really takes the “based on true life” film genre into new territory. But successfully? Not so much. This film falls flat in a lot of areas and really drags on with unimportant details. Some serious editing was desperately needed.

Disappointing. This film was portrayed in the trailers as humorous and I did not laugh once. Not a chuckle. Not even a stifled smirk. Damon steps way out of his usual roles to play a geeky corporate whistle-blower – not an especially likeable character. It is based on a true story, proving once again that life doesn’t always make good fiction. A forgettable role for Steve Bakula as an FBI agent. It should get an Golden Tomato award for most bizarre soundtrack, too. The cutesy music was very out of place. Totally unsatisfying on every level.
