Cohen is so totally out of the box, it is amazing this ever played in theaters. The character he created, Bruno, is without parallel. Not even his Borat character is this outrageous. You’ve been warned. But stick it through, if possible, for no other reason than to see how many celebs and otherwise “normal” people he managed to get into this incredible farce. There’s about an hour of deleted scenes on the DVD, too. Worth consuming? For the shock value, perhaps, but not as breakthrough cinema, IMHO.

WORTH CONSUMING!

The film is a master piece. An excellent social commentary while being absolutely and redickulously funny. Homophobes might have some difficultly with it, but for those that are comfortable with their sexuality there shouldn’t be any issues.

WORTH CONSUMING!

DON’T WATCHTHISMOVIE if nonstop portrayals of effeminate males in offensive situations curdles your blood. Having already seen Borat, I was assuming this movie would likewise push our buttons of decency and good taste and the movie did not disappoint. It is amazing how far we have to go nowadays to be shocked. There is nothing that would be considered pleasant or cute in this movie.

Like it was when I first read Truly Tasteless Jokes years ago, this movie is a truly tasteless joke. There was one thing that made me laugh through and that is the PR firm and the Mothers of the babies who basically appeared to say and agree to anything to get the job. Maybe they figured they could get out of it later, but agreeing to have their child hung on a crucifix without questioning it is just as crazy as Bruno supposed quest for fame in Hollywood. View at your own risk.
