A story about this — 1 year ago

No plot or character development to speak of, just action from start to finish and one-dimensional acting. Lots of things get blown up. Some of the sets reminded me of James Bond movies – a hidden desert fortress and underwater battles. I’m wishy-washy on this one. No redeeming social value, but many of the explosions and battle/chase scenes were pretty kewl. The most surprising aspect of the movie was Hasbro’s name on it. If there was any connection whatsoever to the action figure the toymaker pioneered, other than the camouflage uniforms, I didn’t get it.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Took awhile to get going. But, very good mindless movie. But, where is Gung Ho, Shipwreck, Flint, and Dusty? Hopefully in the sequel. I liked some of the plot twists, but Baroness being “good”- that is a stretch. Let’s retcon that out people.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Seriously … so, so bad. Not that I harbored any shred of belief that this movie would be good but DAMN. As bad as you think it might be? It’s even worse than that. The “acting” is embarrassingly awful. Channing Tatum should really stick to Fighting or Dancing or whatever the hell it is he might be good at, and now I know why we don’t see Sienna Miller more often: she sucks. Dennis Quaid has apparently just given up; he’s literally painful to watch, as are Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Christopher Eccleston. Those three can act, but you wouldn’t know it from watching this piece of crap.

Good if you want a laugh, but if you were a fan of the 80s cartoon you might want to stick with that. Hell, re-enact your favorite scenes with action figures and it would still be better than this movie.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

A friend dared me to watch this…

Awful, awful, awful….

Even if you’re like me and grew uo on this stuff… How can an 80’s cartoon trump a big budget blockbuster???

I call bullshit and the money spent on the ridiculous special effects could have been spent saving starving children.
