Saw this yesterday at the arthouse cinema here in Haarlem. Un prophete is an interesting movie, mostly for it’s critique of imprisonement and the development of Malik, the main character. The downside is: it’s 2,5 hours long. And the movie just can’t hold your attention for that long, especially since the number of characters rises at the end and telling who is who and who’s involved with what gets a little blurry. If it had been half an hour or an hour shorter it would have been better.
