Awesome, great classic horror concepts made modern and done RIGHT!!! Can’t believe I didn’t watch this on Halloween as intended. Completely agree with Nycolene’s well-written review.

There are lots of reasons why I really liked this movie, and not a single reason I can think of as to why they didn’t release it in theatres. It seems like it may just be your run of the mill scary movie, but I was quite pleased and legitimately anxious watching this.
A). Halloween is my NUMBERONE all time favourite holiday, I prepare for it year round, and wish everyday could be Halloween. So naturally, this being a Halloween related movie, I had to watch it in all of it’s gratuitous Halloween glory. Or Gorey? :D
B). They had a super great balance between CGI, animatronics and legitimate special FX makeup. I can’t stand the disgusting amounts of CGI used in movies these days, and almost boycott anything that is overly done with computer graphics. So I was pleasantly surprised when I watched this, and even MORE impressed.
C). It took some turns that I was NOT anticipating. Although, I’m not the quickest person at predicting movies, so it keeps them fresh and surprising for me, so maybe someone else could have foreseen what was going to happen, I however did not.
I did read on imdb that the date for its theatrical release was pushed back so much due to one of the SAW movies, which are becoming quite monotonous and I think that Trick ’r Treat would have done quite well. But oh well, this is definitely the kind of movie I will be buying.
