Sigh, what can I say. I could tell that the original story was pretty funny and good to read. You know, it would be an OK book. fun to read when you’re on holiday, but not something worth buying. But the translation! my goodness the translation was so crappy. I would almost call the people who hired him and tell them to fire him as soon as possible and what on earth were they thinking publishing a book translated like that.. seriously, full of spelling and grammar mistakes. And the poor man just did not understand the modern way of the English language. He messed up all these expressions.. I could tell what the original expressions or ways of saying were, but he just translated it literally (=not good) or used expressions that I had never heard of before and that were way too oldfashioned for the context.

ah well. other than that it was fun to read :)
