I’ll admit it. I like Patricia Arquette, especially when she plays a bad girl. What I liked most about her in this film was her clothing. The costume department must have closed out an entire line of fashion for her to dress the part of a real estate broker murderess who has kinky sex with her husband’s brother before offing him.

The director’s use of scores from the Sound of Music throughout is weirdly interesting. Don Johnson appears in the first half of the film and Ellen DeGeneres plays in the second (more star power at a lower cost?). Dermot Mulroney’s anti-hero role is well acted, and the who’s-screwing-whom-for-what-reason plot keeps it interesting. There’s also a Vegas connection (isn’t there always?). Not a bad way to spend an evening at home.
