I’d been reading Amazing Spider-Man while the issues in this crossover were being published, so I got 1/3 the stories with a little “what has gone before” blurb inside the cover. I was underwhelmed, but had ordered the trade paperback on the recommendation of my Comic Book Pushette, who was reading the whole thing.
I wasn’t disappointed when it arrived. Having the whole 12 issues in one bundle really improved the story. It’s not as shocking as the first Ezekiel/Morlun story, and the presence of the multiple writers and artistic teams was a little distracting, but overall an enjoyable tale that sets us up for the next chapter in the Spider-Man story.
I especially enjoyed the performances put in by the supporting cast – MJ, Aunt Mae, and even Logan.
