Actually, it is. I have heard them live twice, and I personally adore their first and second albums. This new album is notably rougher around the edges in a sort of compressed way, probably due to producer Josh “Queen Of The Stone Age” Homme in the mix, but still, they’re quirky and nice. All in all, though, the songs aren’t as good as in the previous albums. There’s a quite orchestral song in there – “Secret Door” – which is nice and reminiscent of another of Alex Turner’s music-projects, Last Of The Shadow Puppets. The Japanese edition of “Humbug” is interesting due to the cover of Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds’ “Red Right Hand”. All in all: a good album, albeit some tunes a little forgettable, which feels weird to me.
