i would have liked this book more if i had more respect for the narrator…he was insane, stubborn and kind of oblivious…which obviously was intentional and part of a character that has to deal with unspeakable grief…

I thought this was a bloody brilliant book until I got to the end, which was very disappointing and rather strange – the things people try to do to animals . . .

A thought provoking and well written novel about a man who tries to teach his dog to speak, so he can learn what the dog witnessed of his wife’s death.
