I didn’t expect to enjoy this as much as I did (and I really did), especially since I was kind of meh about it after reading the first few pages. I set it down to chat with some people and when I picked it up again I read the rest of it in one sitting, wanting to know what happened. Worth reading.

This book was chosen as the Book of the Year in the City of Mobile a few years back; Very interesting book about a young girl whose mom has passed and the dad becomes unbearable to live with due to his own mourning; and she ends up living with a group of black women who sell honey for a living; She fits right in and even earns her own keep until… Very well written coming of age story
