to sum up this series… Fun! I didn’t expect a historical documentary (that I’ve been getting from BBC’s other show “The Pre-Raphaelites” and repeated visits to wikipedia) but rather a playful drama based on historical figures.

Unlike the Tudors (another drama series I’ve been watching), this one was never heavy-handed or over dramatized but instead gave what it promised, an entertaining romp.
