I decided to start eating oatmeal again for breakfast.

I had gluten free oatmeal left over from my granola-making days and I had some currants and craisins. So all I needed for my favorite oatmeal was walnuts.

So I went to Walgreens, because it was on the way home, thinking walnuts are everywhere. I looked up and down all the likely aisles. No walnuts. Decided to try pecans.

Why’d I get this generic brand? 2 packs for $7 which was a lot less expensive than all the other brands. Remember I didn’t want pecans to begin with.

So I get them home and they’re tasteless. I guess a bit stale tasting if there’s any taste at all. Plus, there’s a note on the back stating that they might be cross-contaminated with wheat!! So much for my gluten-free diet.
