WORTH CONSUMING!

The last song, “Mexican Blue,” is my favorite song of 2006. Sorta Beat-esque in its meandering and evocative lyrics, with gorgeous music and heart-wrenching singing.

I really love this recording. It’s even better than Escondida. Jolie Holland’s music is like from a hazy dream. I feel as if I’ve always had her voice singing to me softly in the background of my mind.

She’s playing The Triple Door tomorrow night and I won’t be there, goddammit.

This is the type of music you can take with you for years and years and you will never feel it is old, even though it has the old bluish feeling. Wonderful.
