Not quite what I was expecting! I thought I’d get a chirpy slice of pop, but rather this is much more a gentle mix a few different styles, including pop, yes, but more a ’50s-ish vibe (might be the guitar, actually) and country.

I still find Paolo Nutini’s singing voice a little weird: I can’t help but think it sounds a little put on. That said, it didn’t annoy me over the course of the album as I’d feared, so fair ’nuff!
