How this changed my life — 1 year ago
I will never be able to go back to eating the way I was. This has changed me forever. EVERYONE should watch this — it’s important to make EDUCATED decisions and this film helps us do exactly that.
111 out of 116 people (95%) think this is worth consuming…

Yuck! I think it’s a sign of something when watching anything about industrial food processes makes me nauseous. And what the hell were they doing to that poor cow, sticking a hand into her stomach?!
Anyway. Yes, I agree, food industry is evil and I want to change something. But telling me to “vote with my wallet”, when the products aren’t even labeled properly (because, as you can see in the documentary, GMO and cloned products don’t need to be labeled as such), so I can’t make an informed decision? Not the answer that I was looking for.
Still, I’m going to do my best. Compared to the ways of majority of people living in the “First World”, I am a dirty Mother-Earth-loving hippie, but movies like this one make me vow to go further.
Food INC
The company controls everything.
Mass production of food.
When you grow a chicken in 7 weeks, their bones and internal organs can’t keep up with the rapid growth. A lot of the chickens could only take a few steps and then plop down as they can’t keep up with the weight they are carrying.
Can you imagine? This is America, somewhere with standards and ethics, government regulations. Imagine how much worse it must be in China.
The farmers in the movie all seemed like nice genuine people. I liked the farmers.
Corn- a staple? In everything?
Imagine if you were alergic to corn?
Ecoli in beef, spinach, peanut butter,
Wow, so the number of farms & slaughter houses have decreased & become monopolised. Making the risk of viruses and cross contamination a greater threat.
Cows are meant to eat grass not corn. When cows eat corn they are more likely to suffer problems and are more susceptible to E.coli. The movie indicated that E.coli was rampant in the beef industry.
Hamburger meat is treated with ammonia to kill E.coli.
It’s funny as an expat in China, most of what I buy is internationally imported, including beef from the States.
The biggest predictor of obesity is income level.
1 in 3 Americans born after 2000 will contract early onset diabetes.
Grass is good. Yay! There is hope.
Industrial food is not honest food. Organic food as an industry is growing. New alchemy.
Monsanto is the devil. When you genetically modify a crop, you own it. Montano has patented seeds. Saving seeds is illegal.
So Monsanto & government bodies are tied together financially.
Oprah was sued by the meat industry for a comment she made about the beef industry.
Wow! It showed a seeder cleaner being sued by Monsanto. The video is dated December 2007. My heart goes out to this man and I hope he is okay today, financially and emotionally.
Touches on so many aspects of what is wrong with the current system and gives ideas for change. Consumers really are voting with our dollars and we can move away from feeling so powerless.
Joel Salatin: “A culture that just views a pig as a pile of protoplasmic inanimate structure, to be manipulated by whatever creative design the human can foist on that critter, will probably view individuals within its community, and other cultures in the community of nations, with the same type of disdain and disrespect and controlling type mentalities.”
