Why I want to consume this — 6 years ago
It’s got caffeine and it doesn’t have sugar. It’s got flavor, but not too much (i.e. diet cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper). I’m hopelessly addicted!

I don’t usually enjoy diet drinks, but diet coke was especially dissappointing because I expect more from Coca Cola. The drink goes flat quickly, has the false sugar taste of diet drinks, and has too many bubbles.
i am constantly consuming this.
just like tammy faye bakker. i am obsessed.
i believe it has taken over my life!
In a word: Ick. Anything diet is going to taste bad, but Diet Coke is so far below The Real Thing that I honestly don’t understand why anyone would put up with it.
Diet Cherry Coke is much better, if you’ve a taste for cherry flavour (it’s what I’m drinking right now, as it happens).
i have become addicted to a drink that is bad for you, and is made by a company that is bad for many. this is shameful. but i love it. the fizzy fizz, the flavor, even.
Okay, so there’s really no comparing Diet Coke to original Coke; it doesn’t get any better than delicious carbonated sugar water. There must be eight spoons of sugar in one can! For fiends, friends and fans of sweet foods, there is no better beverage than Coca-Cola.
But every now and then, a fiend, friend or fan of sweet food has to establish better eating habits— perhaps even ‘go on a diet’. And when that happens, what a glorious thing Diet Coke is! The burn of the intense carbonation in your mouth, the sickeningly sweet sensation (this time caused by aspartame), the jolt of caffiene— it is all there, without the calories! What a fabulous little beverage!
As long as one allows oneself to sneak in an original Coke every now and then, Diet Coke is a great way to fill in the gap of regular sugar water sips.
Is it just me, or does Diet Coke from a soda fountain (awful) taste different from Diet Coke from a bottle or can (tolderable)?
I particularly like Erik Benson today. Namely because Alyssa pre-emptively bought me a Diet Coke last night when we attended a movie. Erik was kind enough to pull it out of my hand and consume it for me. Had he not been there, I would have drank it.
Diet Coke is some powerful shit. It’s been 3 days since my last DC and I wanted to order it thrice: twice at lunch and last night at The Elysian.
I’m going to keep referring to DC as “shit” to negatively reinforce my cravings. In the end I may go back but not without rushing out of the room like a tormented lover.
I drank a large Diet Coke last night at the movies. I realized I have to stop drinking this shit … at least for a while.
If you know me well enough to eat or go to movies with me, please suggest a water or tea if you see me ordering a DC for the next 2 weeks. No need to hassle me but a little moral support would be appreciated. Thanks.
I started drinking Diet Coke about 4 years ago — mostly to stay awake. I’m a sleeper.
I stopped drinking DC (and caffeine in general) for 6 months. It was great, but I always manage to find my way back to the well. And I really do enjoy the wonderful bubbles and fake sweet taste. It’s addictive.
