Anything with Jamie Lee Curtis is watchable. What I liked about this was the way it exaggerates the way we cling to traditions. There’s a lot to be learned about how much we fear losing them. But the movie starts to fall apart the minute the Kranks daughter announces she’s coming home for the holidays with her fiance. Interesting premise, not so well executed.

Life is too short to spend it watching movies like this. I haven’t a clue how it ends; I bailed out after watching more than I should have. Jamie Lee, Jamie Lee, ye of the exquisite A Fish Called Wanda—how could you let yourself fall so far from grace?!
