YA Book Review: "The Reformed Vampire Support Group" by Catherine Jinks — 31 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Nina is a vampire. A reformed vampire, she doesn’t go for human blood and she hasn’t even been blooded yet, which means she doesn’t even crave it. However, she still has to go to a group therapy session every Tuesday night with Father Ramon and the other reformed vampires, who she doesn’t even really like.

One Tuesday night, Casimir, the oldest of the vampires and the one who pretty much created them all, doesn’t show up to the meeting. The rest of the support group goes to investigate and what they find would make a normal person scream! Casimir’s dead! A stake to the heart! Who did it? Why?

As the support group tries to uncover this mystery, they are forced outside their comfort zone..one where they kept to themselves, never venturing alone just in case one of them is tempted. “The Reformed Vampire Support Group” is a action packed murder mystery and a fun and at times, hilarious, read. Catherine Jinks sets the story in Australia and also presents the vampires in a new light…not one that we are used too anyway. Her references to contemporary writers, like Stephanie Meyers, is also great. Definitely one worth adding to your collection!
