A story about this — 2 years ago
I fell in love with Frank McCort’s writing the frist time I tasted his work. I meant to read Angela’s Ashes for ages—I gave the book to my mother as a gift once, she encouraged me to read it (after warning me) but when she died I couldn’t bare to open the book as for the theme. Regardless, one day I faced my fear and ate the book up in about two days (I had to work, you know!). I finished ‘Tis in about as long, but Teacher Man is taking me ages!!! I love the book so far—brilliant its insights and makes me laugh because the teaching portions are so sadly true. It’s like the misery of teaching that no one wants to talk about. Perhaps I can’t finish it because I like being caught up in the book and his words too much.
