Decent overview of the "scene" but didn't convey passion — 2 years ago
This probably is a good read for someone wanting to try and make sense of what the heck “emo” music is and how it differs from standard hardcore and who some of the major players are and were. But it doesn’t really strike me with the the sense that I must go out and buy the albums RIGHT NOW. If you’re only interested in the music itself, be aware that the last 3 chapters deal mainly with how the FANS feel about emo.
