A story about the last time I consumed this — 1 year ago

I am SO glad I am done reading this book….and not because it was amazing or life-changing for me, but instead because it was TEDIOUS. I like to read memoirs to learn about all sorts of people in all sorts of situations. I guess if anything, I learned quite about a bit about burn victims/patients and what sort of treatment and recovery they go through along with all the potential complications. Yes this book has an interesting story…or idea to it, but that’s because it’s true. I think sometimes people are just fascinated with the very thought of suicide, let alone someone setting themselves on fire. Maybe that’s why they think this book is so amazing. I on the other hand am not fascinated by it, and I don’t think the very presense of an attempted suicide makes the book worth reading. If the book was actually written at the age of 14 or 15 maybe I could overlook the bad writing, but he started writing it at the age of 24. The climax happened at the beginning of the book and rest is just monotonous and drags on and on through hospital days…and then it finally builds up to his first day back at high school…and the book ENDS. It doesn’t even bother to tell you anything about that first day. Like I said, I’m glad I’m done reading this book. Finally.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This was a great read! The author was honest, yet not maudlin about his suicide attempt. I feel he has a natuaral gift for writing.
