is that an outback bag where carlito cooks for his girl? i didn’t know outback served lobster??? otherwise i thought this movie was ok. i like jay hernandez so that was a plus. i liked how nacho is his good friend in carlito’s way but when we meet him in this movie he has a contract to kill carlito. it made me laugh.

This film tries to suck the life out of successful mafia-films such as “The Godfather”, “Goodfellas”, and of course, “Carlito’s Way”, that it ends up being a copycat.

That, and the fact that most things about it are not well-done, e.g. the direction, action (other than Luis Guzman, who should have stayed away from this one (especially considering De Palma directed his good acting so well in “Carlito’s Way”)) and script; most scenes are too lengthy, the main character is utterly forgettable and very poorly played.

I’d rather recommend another new mob-type film, namely “10th & Wolf”.
